EuroOffice
EuroOffice is the name of a free and open-source OpenOffice.org derivative and a set of accompanying free and non-free extensions. Most of the extensions also work with "vanilla" OpenOffice.org.
The EuroOffice application suite provides us a means to enable some of our extensions to do more than what is possible in OpenOffice.org. Since it is open-source we hope that these additions will be considered improvements by our users and adopted in the future by OpenOffice.org developers. We have signed the JCA, so nothing stands in the way of adoption.
The EuroOffice application suite in turn also contains some parts of OpenOffice.org that have not made it through the sometimes slow-moving OpenOffice.org QA process. We feel that these bits and pieces are important for our users or needed by our extensions and so we perform our own QA on them and include them in our builds.
Our offering of extensions currently includes:
- EuroOffice Dictionary, a dictionary toolbar and translation aid for OpenOffice.org Writer.
- EuroOffice Map Chart, a new chart type for visualizing geographic data in OpenOffice.org Calc.
- EuroOffice Solver, a solver for the linear programming problem in OpenOffice.org Calc.
- EuroOffice Adaptive Interface, an extension that provides adaptive menus in EuroOffice (does not work in OpenOffice.org).
EuroOffice is available for download from its product page. The extensions are available for download from their individual product pages or from the OpenOffice.org Extensions Repository.
EuroOffice is developed by MultiRacio Ltd., a Hungarian firm with a past in economical statistics and of course office application localization and development.
