ISO/IEC 26300 (OpenDocument v1.0) is now published

The OpenDocument ISO standard (ISO/IEC 26300), which was approved by ISO this May, is now published. Its official name is ISO/IEC 26300:2006.

The ISO/IEC 26300:2006 standard is available in the ISO store.

The equivalent OpenDocument v1.0 OASIS standard is available at the OASIS web site.

WordPerfect to support both ODF and Open XML

Beginning in mid 2007, Corel will provide open, view, and edit functionality for Open XML and ODF as a first step toward comprehensive support for both formats. The company would not say how this support would be delivered, the timing of the format support's arrival makes it appear likely that it will be delivered in the next version of WordPerfect Office.
