Paris plans to distribute 175,000 copies of OpenOffice to students

Region Ile de France (the country's capital city region, which includes Paris) announced plans to distribute 175,000 USB keys with, Firefox, Thunderbird, and other open source software to high school students of the region. will be installed in every high school, allowing students to use the same software at school and at home. This is considered a major step forward for OpenDocument in France.
